Her primary academic interests are in the field of neuroscience and quantitative methodology / statistics while her research interests span the areas of memory, cognition, and intelligence (specifically "successful intelligence"). She has received numerous honors and awards for her research including recognition from both the American Psychological Association and Western Psychological Association. Her proficiency as a research analyst and extensive background in statistics, encompassing advanced statistical methodology as well as multivariate statistics, structural equation modeling, and data mining, led her to her faculty position as Lecturer at CSUF. Book Reviews

Rodlin, V., Book Reviewer (2005). Foundations of Univariate Behavioral Statistics. Guilford Press, New York, NY.

Purpose of Review: To guide the author in the development of the manuscript and to help Guilford Press determine if the manuscript is ready for publication.

Book Description: Aimed at providing readers with an introduction to univariate statistics, the book emphasizes how different statistical methods are related to one another using general linear model concepts. It also emphasizes effect sizes and confidence intervals. The book includes stories and examples as well as concrete hypothetical data sets to confirm and further explore statistical dynamics.

Rodlin, V., Book Reviewer (2002). Intermediate Applied Statistics. Sage Publications, Inc., Thousand Oaks, CA.

Purpose of Review: To determine whether or not the publisher should offer a contract for this proposal.

Book Description: A prospectus, outline, and first draft of three sample chapters ("Reading Equations as Sentences", "Three Variable Research Situations", and "Factor Analysis"). The book is aimed at the second-level statistics course in which readers need to understand multiple-predictor problems, including such topics as effect size, significance testing, handling errors from sampling or missing data, Pearson's r, bivariate and multiple regression, ANCOVA, MANOVA, discriminate function analysis, and factor analysis.
